Warsawa, Polonia

Warsaw, Poland

We didn’t have much time to tour around in Warsaw, and all of it was at night. I was pleasantly surprised by Warsaw, because everything I had heard was negative. It was actually quite pretty, or it was at night, anyway.

We learned a lot about Poland’s history as well. Poland has been beat  up by the Russians and the Germans  – Warsaw was decimated in World War II, and has pretty much been completely rebuilt from scratch. It gave me a lot of respect for the Polish people who went through so much, and then pulled together to rebuild.

These are amazing pictures – especially since they show the people’s commitment to er-build what they had rather than just modernize the towns with forgettable new structures.
