Little Christmas in August
Our Air freight arrived! Hooray! We’ve been living out of suitcases for about a month, so it’s pretty exciting to get four huge boxes of stuff. (They’re really huge, you could probably fit two Ryans in one of them.) They are so huge, in fact, that one of the boxes was too big to fit in the elevator, and the movers had to carry it up 5 flights of stairs. Of course keep in mind, the size of this elevator is such that when you first look at it, you think it’s for one person. You can fit four – although you have to all move together to manipulate the doors, which open inward, of course. And there’s none of that pretense of not noticing the other passengers and staring straight ahead. And it can be smelly … if anyone is smelly. Like a mover, who has just carred a huge box upstairs. For example.
So, we’ve started unpacking a few things. Ryan was most excited about getting his MythBox computer, and the parts for his new computer. I was most excited about getting a few more pairs of shoes, and a few more purses. Oh, and socks. Somehow I only packed 4 pairs of socks for four weeks. I had to ration them carefully, and did a lot of long walks in flip flops. So I’m pretty excited now to be able to wear socks whenever I want to.
Sometimes it’s all about the little things. :)
